“The problem with AI has nothing to do with the technology itself. The problem is the people who are financing and deploying it; the imperatives of 21st-century capitalism ensure that their thought processes will not include the impact of those deployments on humans, be they employees or customers.
“This effect is worsened by the high cost of building and training AI models, ensuring that this capability will mostly be exercised by people whose primary concern is profit, rather than the improvement of the human condition.”
